The Ginger People sport an impressive line of ginger and turmeric products including the world-famous Gin GinsĀ® Ginger Chews. I was honored to take part in doing a complete redesign of The Ginger People website while working for Wired Right Web Design.

The Ginger People were no longer satisfied with their website.

Design a new website that appealed to The Ginger People and their customers.

Design Phase

Summary:

The Ginger People website redesign resulted in changes to every page of the site including the products page, the home page, the about and contact pages, and more. Additionally, we reorganized the navigation for the site in order to better match the changes that were made to the rest of the site.

We opted for a simple navigation bar that nested itself under the logo to provide a natural, minimalistic feel. We also decided to move the socials to the top right to keep them in plain view and used a natural tan color as an accent bar.

Colors

For the color scheme of the site, we highlighted the bold red color that is used in The Ginger People’s logo by making it the dominant color on the landing page. Additionally, we used the natural ginger root tan color on the rest of the pages in order to set the scene and represent the products that are being sold.

This provided a nice balance of branding and product recognition that stays true to the mission and vision of The Ginger People. The bold red color conveys a brand identity while the tan represents the organic products that are cherished by customers.
